Peafowl are instantly recognizable, particularly the males with their magnificent, long tails which they fan out to such effect. In Hindu countries they are considered sacred and so, not being hunted, they roam free and can become very tame.
They are large birds and require a lot of room, either a large pen (a suggested minimum is 400 sq ft) or roaming free. However, they tend to be damaging to gardens and their call, especially in the breeding season, can be very harsh and carries some distance.
Wehave just one picture at the moment.
